Brake Master Cylinder Circlip Installation.
« on: Monday April 23, 2018, 23:29:27 UTC »
Just discovered some conflicting instructions regarding the correct orientation of the circlip at the end of the brake master cylinder.
If the circlip is not installed with the correct orientation, the two lugs on the open end wear two grooves in the push rod.
The Dunlop notes say the open end should be towards the mounting bracket i.e. facing downwards when installed.
There is an MoD document AP015B-1326-18 (March, 1988) which shows it the other way.
Both publications have accompanying diagrams.
The Dunlop manual seems to be correct.  Does anybody know about a correction to the MoD document?

I would go with Dunlop.  I have found a picture that shows it that way so I guess it is correct??

I agree Brian.  Dunlop appears to be correct but the MoD document also has a diagram so I wonder whether this has perhaps been corrected in a later issue.
Somebody will know!
