Hi Dave,

Talking about anoraks, this is the kind of think I tend to do when I can't sleep :D . Don't even think of staying awake while I'm posting here. Now go to bed, and I'll have a second try myself :doubt:

Goodnight!

Dave (and yes, it's that late again  ),

From the previous owner I recieved some comments on G-HDAE. Translated literally he states that "Airborne Classics LTD is indeed the correct new owner. The Chipmunk is still in Schaffen, waiting for the new English owner to collect it".

So I suppose it can be seen back in the UK soon.

Hope it's of use.

Herbert

Thanks for the update Herbert.  :)

Seems a shame for you to lose a Chipmunk, but I guess your loss is our gain.  :D

Irish Chipmunks:
168. According to above mentioned book it's operated by No 1 Operations Wing, Baldonnel. It can't be operational though, so I suppose it is either used as an instructional airframe or being restored by the wing. Is this the machine Declan hints about?

For details of 168 please see the Irish Air Corps thread in this very part of the forum - doh      I will now don the dunce's hat and go stand in the corner.......

G-HDAE is indeed destined to return to the UK very soon, now that the weather has taken a turn for the better. It will be based at Enstone.

Thanks for all the updates. Brent you're luvvly chippie is now on the list, any chance of letting us know were she is based? Not a problem if you'd rather not say. If it's a private strip then I can put 'private strip Yorkshire' or similar.

Anybody know were the other recent ex Portugal Chippy is based 1358 (G-ITWB) ? The owner lives near me so hopefully she maybe in my area.

Good morning all,  The Chipmunk is based at Spanhoe in Northants.  There are a number of Chipmunks which have originated from there, including I think most of those from Portugal.  Mine is one of three which have been under restoration at the same time.  This makes it very convenient as a reference on occasions.

There is also an ex RAF chippy based there, and when I was last there, two other there for maintenance.  It is a friendly place with various other relatively unusual aircraft based there.  A Morane Saunier 733, Fokker, Fokke Wulf, a number of Auster variants, Jungmann, Tiger Moth and Stampe.

Regards,  Brent

Just updated the list, still looking for info on the location of some of these aircraft though. All help would be appreciated. ( G-APYG and WB726 for a start )

I'm going to see if I can make it more presentable as well, so bare with me!

Hello everyone, sorry I havent been around lately to update the list but now I'm back! I've added a link at the top of the page that goes straight to the list as I have it at home in Word. I will over the next few days be adding links to and updating the other lists also, as well as adding USA and if I have time Africa! Now the big questions are, do you like the list?, should I delete the list in the first post and just leave the link? and who is going to be the first to send me an update!  :-D

WP860 has, according to Scottish Air News, recently moved to it's new home at Castle Kennedy. I don't know where they got the info from though.
