"Walking The Plank" - CC's 2006 Work-up

Hi all,

Spent a fantastic afternoon at Scotland's equivalent of Area 51, getting dirty with the Caledonian Chipmunks as they began their display work-up for the 2006 display season. Really enjoyed it, and would love to go back there - especially when it's dry and sunny! Thanks to all the guys at the CCs for a really memorable afternoon. Still can't get the Battle of Britain theme tune out of my head!

Here's a few images from the afternoon.

Cheers
Mark

More fantastic photos Mark!!

I can confirm that the scowls in some of the photographs were replaced by smiles once we had got airborne.  The Scottish weather has been taking its toll over the last couple of weeks!

Don't worry Dave, we wiped the aircraft down after they had been through the "Aircraft Wash"!

Lovely photos! It makes me appreciate how lucky we are weather-wise here in the Antipodes....

Cheers,

Rod.

Hi Mark

Fantastic photos. I wouldn't fancy the wash job after your flight, but I am sure it was worth it! The major problem for us in the antipodean Perth at this time of year is dust, dust and more dust!

Regards,

Peter

Great photo's Mark, really atmospheric.  8)  You could almost be there - except were dry and warm..

Looks like it could be worth investing in floats.  :D

Excellent set of pictures my dear friend! Leaving me little or no room to post any more without repeating your shots. It was an absolute cracking afternoon, despite the weather.

Cheers, Berry

And again we can see some nice photo series here at the CC forum. Very nice stuff, Mark! Where most thought the Chipmunk is a trainer, above photo's reveal it's actually a mud mover . Chipmunk GR1? :D

Keep the high quality up!

Great photographs guys. Here is the latest 'Cale' Chippie, WP860, arriving at Fife, Sunday for the local fly in. Look closely and that is my five year old son doing the landing from the back!!

Hi Steve,

Wish I knew you were coming up! Fife is not too far away and I was looking for something to do that day...

Nice to see the look on your wee boys face

Cheers, Berry

8)  :D Cheers guys, yes it was a good day with Jim McTaggart arriving with the Starduster and Gavin with the Pitts. A display then assumed with a fairly barnstorming departure by all three aeroplanes. Free landing on the assumption you brought an Easter Egg!!
