Well despite the weather 17 Chipmunks managed to have a good day out at Leicester this Saturday, the skies were alive with the things.  8)

It was great to meet Alvin sfc, Herbert and his girlfriend. Having seen Herbert photo's I feel abit worried about putting my little efforts up but I'm sure as soon as he gets back we'll see some of his great work.

G-BXGL in from Booker

G-ARMG about to taxi out.

"Ghostrider request a flyby"..... you had to be there....

G-BCPU, can I fly in this next time I go BA??

G-ALWB, Dennis Neville's nice civil Chipmunk. Patrica Neville flying.

Flower Bombing !!  :D

G-APYG waiting to get some fuel.

WK517 getting some fuel.

G-ITWB, ex Portuguese Chipmunk that is new to the scene and very nice it looks to.  8)

Chippy's await fuel, just like Tesco's only this is one jam I'm happy to watch.

I have lots more. If anybody wants me to post a specific aircraft then please ask!

Lastly a big thankyou to Bill Fisher for organising the event.  :thumbright:
Ahhh Chippies.....

Hi all,

Just came back from the UK and found some time to post some snaps on the Leicester meet before we rush off again to Chipmeet.

I'm not going to give a full report on the meet, but I do want to thank the organiser of the meet Bill Fisher and his wife Andra for organising this weekend dedicated to the Chipmunk :thumbright: . The weather didn't cooperate, so the total number of Chipmunks attending remained around the twenties. Not bad considering the numerous cats and dogs that came down on us, but it did make all mainland European Chipmunks stay at home :( .

Not only the aircraft, but especially the cheerfull company of the attending aircrew, visitors and CC forum members made the weekend to a really great event for us :D . Betty and me were very glad to meet with Alvin and Dave on saturday (thanks for the kind words, guys), and we had a quick chat with Berry and Gill on sunday.

Now on to some quickly edited photos (I might post more later if I can find the time), which hopefully give a good impression of the weekend:

(Flower) Bombing the fire truck (and yes, it's those guys in red again  )

Three of a kind

Ex College of Air Training Chippie. Note the dual landing lights

Bad weather for the Duke of York

Evening study

After the rain has gone . . .

Solo Chippie

Cheers,
Herbert

Thanks for the comments guys, but I did tell you Herberts would be better.  :D

Can I ask how many aircraft made it on Sunday Herbert? I woke up in the morning looked at the weather and thought - nobodys going to go in this and made my way back home. Looks like I missed at least one plus Berry and Gill.  :(

P.S. Were's that viddy Alvin!  :D  8)

P.P.S. If anybody hasn't seen it check out the pictures of Herberts girlfriend Betty smiling in the back of a Navy chippie on his website - sums it all up really!
