What a shame. It seems to have the same wrinkled fuselage of AOSU, that seems to suffer in order to protect the occupants.Very good design, those two boys walked out of that one.

I am crying, landyman. Declan directed me to the photos and the c/n 360 confirms my worst fears. It should never have left Shempston! I'm off to get a Macallan to drown my sorrows! John F.

i know the feeling, one of the chipmunks i have flown in has made one more succesful takoff than succesful landings too. i know she looks very badly damaged but as someone on this forum said, the chipmunk is the restorers friend. so you never know.

all the best.

Quote from: Declan
That trip to Oshkosh and display of Chipmunk, please tell more!
I flew out of Suffolk, Virginia over the Appalachian mountains and dropped off a friend in St Louis.  That was an 800 mile trip in one day.  I spent the next two days doing the final 400 miles to Oskosh, solo, hindered constantly by weather.

I was invited to take part in the display where they try to get as many warbirds in the air at one time as possible.  It is truly an awsome sight and to see it from mid-air is just breathtaking.  WK559 (N559WK) was the only Chipmunk in the display.  She got a lot of attention.

Then I flew the 800 miles back to Virginia, which is a long story put very succinctly.

I note from Februarys Pilot mag that the CAA have cancelled the registration of G-TRIC. On investigating the CAA website - g-info - it appears that the aircraft is now owned by an 'Angel' from Toledo, Spain! Perhaps its now heading for warmer climes! Dammit!

I have had a response to my email enquiring about the fate of G-BCYJ in South Africa which I'll be happy to forward, or install in the forum once I'm clever enough! All is not lost ! J.

WG474 (G-BCSL) has been an important part of my life for nearly 30 years. Last flew her yesterday -  still my favorite aeroplane.

Used to fly G-BARS years ago at Hawarden, too.

WP967 - RAF Turnhouse, as an air-experience flight on many occasions, 1974-76.  Anybody know what happened to it?

I've just started fly G-BXDM / WP840 which is currently at Conington Peterborough, having previously (according to G-INFO) been with Michael Turner before moving to RAF Halton.
