We all know that the Chippie is an excellent lead-in trainer to the legendary stuff, which is why the type is still used by the BBMF and the RNHF. I recently had the opportunity to fly a T-6G from the rear cockpit. Not as sweet to handle as the old DHC-1, but an absolute hoot nevertheless. Yammering along behind a 600hp Wasp is so enjoyable that it's all too easy to forget the serious financial implications of being bitten by the T-6 bug.
If money were no object, my 'dream team' would have to include a Chipmunk, T-6, Gladiator and a Spitfire Mk V. You'll be the first to know if my Lotto numbers come up...
