Accelerometer
« on: Monday July 05, 2010, 21:59:18 UTC »
My accelerometer is sick (either than or I'm pulling an impressive -10g when taxying).

Can anyone recommend an instrument engineer who can fix said instrument?

Anyone looking to sell a functional accelerometer?

Hi Andrew,
If it is a 6A/3451 accelerometer , it is not a complicated instrument and any instrument mechanic should be able to repair it. It is basically a weight on a slide attached to a spring with a cord.
The G load on the weight stretches the sping and the dial simple records the amount of movement.  I've taken one apart because the cord had broken, resulting in the weight clonking up and down inside when you move the instrument.
