We now have over 30 Chipmunks registered for this event.  If you are planning on coming, please can you let me know your registration.  Even if your thoughts are "I want to, but I'll confirm nearer the date", please do register anyway.

There are free breakfast paninis for the Chipmunk pilots.  There is no landing fee.  If you have guests, let us know and I'll ensure they do not have to join the club membership to get in (it's a 'members only' event).  They'll be registered guests.

The Lancaster fly past is currently planned for 1445.
We have talks by:
Bill Purchase -  Chipmunks Around The World
Rod Brown - An Illustrated History of the Chipmunk.

Sonja Fillingham, the 1952 Kings Cup winner and wife of the late Pat Fillingham, the UK Chipmunk test pilot, is our Guest of Honour.   She will be arriving in DHC-1 G-AOSK.

We have over 30 Chipmunks confirmed and a number of 'maybes' too.

Please make sure you have registered with Sue at Panshanger (01797 391 791), even if you are a 'maybe'.  A 'robust' air/ground operation will be in effect on the day and having registrations in advance will make for a more efficient system.

Thank you.

'Tis funny you should say that, we  have just exchanged emails discussing whether to use that word in the pilot's brief.  It's being omitted!

31 confirmed and 6 maybes now + a bunch of SuperMunks.

41 registered now.

We do need to send anyone who may come a Pilots' Brief so that they can make the most of the event.  Please do send your a/c reg and email address to me, even if there is only the vaguest possibility of you coming.

What a Great Sounding Event, You BLOKES should feel Honored to have hosted such a great flying Event.  I think maybe we should try something similar here in the U.S.  I can't wait to see Photos.

Hi Champdriver.  I'm not a women's libber and I don't believe in silly men/women tiffs, but you may be amused to know the "BLOKES" to which you refer are called Sue and Carol!

As for hosting something in the U.S.  I project managed 'Chipmunks to Oshkosh' last year.  That was a great success too.  I am sorry you escaped my emailing list.  If you send me your email address on a PM, I will ensure that you are included in the next one.

Happy trails.   :-)

Bob:

Loved the video!

Well done gents on what was obviously a difficult day. I would never have chosen that music, but it was really effective...

Cheers,

Rod.

Rod

I totally agree with you on the music.  The contrast to reality is strikingly stark.  It's very effective. The thought of closing one's eyes with the turbulence lashing us around was the furthest thing from our minds.  I reckon there wasn't a single blink between all 14 of us for 30 minutes!
