Ok so its not actually a chipmunk but it comes from dehavilland and I thought you might like it  :D

Arrived at Coventry at 10.00 as I had a check-in time of 11.00 only to find out that the Devon wasn't flying until 14.00 and my flight would be at 14.40

14.00 arrived and we found out that they had overfuelled the aircraft and so they would have to do more flights with less passengers only problem was the crew were due on the Dakota just after 3. It appeared to take a long time to work out the new weights etc and so in the end no flights took place until after the Dakota flights and Coventry air traffic had given every bug and bird in the air priority! Eventually we were let loose on the bird about 5.30 but all I can say is it was definatly worth the wait! A lovely aircraft and the pilot made the most sweetest of landings you could ever imagine. Anyway enough rambling here are the photo's

Hope you enjoy.

Very nice! Even though you had to wait, I can think of worse places to be than watching some historic birds take to the sky!!

Thanks for the comments guys  8)

I didn't really mind the wait, as you say so many nice old kites to look at and also a European Airlines 737 that needed 3 attempts plus attention to get airbourne    Don't think I would have liked to have been on that flight!

Declan it's definatly worth a trip but keep in mind the fact that although they may ask you to book in at 9.30 your flight might not be until 16.30 or so. Getting back to Scotland in a Chippie at that time in October could be pushing it!

Nice set of pictures! Must have been 'trail flight day' at Coventry that day as somebody else (on another forum) mentioned a flight in another aircraft at the same day as well.

Cheers, Berry
