You will notice I'm a bit lacking in bases / locations for a lot of them and I'm hoping that some of you out there will be able to fill the gaps so that us Chippie fans can have a good database on here to utilise. Thanks for the details. Top job! Quite some additions and amendments to the list.

Do you happen to know if any of the old Thai Chippies is still flying in their Thai AF livery? And if so, can you attach a photograph of such a machine here in the forum? I've seen photo's of them before, but only in black and white, taken in long gone times. I wonder what they would look like in colour.

Hi Herbert:

There's a colour photo of a mixed Chipmunk/Chantra line-up at Don Muang (the other side of Bankok's current airport) in "Chipmunk - the First Fifty Years". Have you seen this? Interestingly, the Chipmunks appear to be in a later scheme (overall white, with orange wingbands, wingtips, nose bowl and rudder tip plus a blue fuselage stripe and trim). I have a photo of VH-XBS's fuselage prior to restoration, with a broad yellow (orange?) fuselage band behind the roundel, with a quite lage "37-95" under the cockpit.

I don't think there are any Chipmunks restored in Thai schemes here...

Put down WB683 (formerly G-AORL and now VH-DCZ) as living (for the last 25 years) at Coldstream Aerodrome in Melbourne's Yarra Valley.  Currently it has the engine out and being overhauled by Vintage Engine Works Australia (Borg Sorensen) after finding some white metal in the oil filter (sob!).

Nothing that money won't fix really!
